I have one room with this horrible dark green shag carpet( it is wonderously hideous to behold), and no matter how much I vaccum (which isn't much, I assure you), it still has this disconcerting sheen of cat hair. Oh to be able to rip it up. Good luck with the project, there is nothing better than the sound of bare feet on wood floors. That is the one great thing about Hubbie, since Pergo is a Swedish brand and has been over there forever he is an expert in installing those click-floors. I am going to put him to work and make him prove it once we are finally in our own digs. I love your humor. I just couldn't let this one go without a comment. We have hardwood floors and two dogs. One of which is a Siberian Husky which pretty much equals about three dogs all by himself when it comes to hair. The doggy toenails will soon fade into the background and you won't even notice anymore. What you will notice is the urge, yes this slightly bordering on OCD need, to sweep and mop your floors every day. You will notice that, while infinitely easier to clean up, the hair will also fly around and collect in certain spots (like corners) as well as any doggy footprints being completely noticeable. Overall, we prefer the hardwood because it's much easier to keep clean I just wanted to warn you that the problem doesn't go away it just changes outfits. I recommend Murphy's Oil Soap.
